My girlfriend works at a hospital and is on call every night she is off. She works long and late hours each day. It is dark when she gets off work, so we always make sure her car is in the best shape possible. She has always worried about breaking down on her drive home, as sometimes it is after midnight, depending on how many patients and nurses there are working. We also carry 24 hour towing on our insurance which is unlimited mileage. It does cost extra but gives us piece of mind, as towing can be very costly if towing very many miles. A few nights ago, her car broke down on the freeway coming home at approximately 1:00 a.m. and she called me. I always keep a few 24 hour towing companies in my wallet and she keeps them in her glove box in her car. She had already looked at her paper and called one of the 24 hour towing companies and they were on their way to tow her. A police officer had also stopped to be sure she was alright. I stayed on the phone with her until the towing company had arrived, then met her at the place she was having it towed to. By having coverage on our insurance policy for 24 hour towing, it saved us a lot of money. She was back on the road with her car running great in 2 days. We also carry rental car coverage, so she had a car to drive before she got hers back.
