Today I overheard some guys at work talking about something called a plasma cutter. I wasn’t sure what they were talking about until I came home and looked it up. Apperantly construction companies use plasma cutters to fabricate large beams and auto shops and car factories use them as well, to fabricate and design chasis and other custom parts. I guess you really do learn something new everyday.

Someone in my office sent me a link to this new product called “TrafficGauge” (www.TrafficGauge.com). It’s a very interesting little device, I must admit. It gives you a real-time traffic report for major freeways and it updates every 4 minutes to show you which roads are jammed up, to save you time and gas. It’s about the size of a PDA and costs right under $80 dollars. It’s currently available for Seattle traffic, San Francisco Bay Area traffic, and Southern California traffic in Orange County and Los Angeles.
TrafficGauge device offers real-time traffic anytime, anywhere with the TrafficGauge handheld, TrafficGauge for Cell, TrafficGauge for PC, TrafficGauge for Widget Suite and TrafficGauge for iPhone. Each product or service offers simple to use and easy to read traffic maps. These maps are the best in the industry. The device is an award winning, customer-loving favorite for navigating traffic in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle. The cell phone and PC/Mac software is free and works in most major metropolitan markets.

I went to my girlfriends brothers birthday get together over the weekend and had a pretty good time. My girlfriend and I got him a new LCD monitor from Buy.com for his computer. We got a pretty good deal on the monitor and the quality and durability of the monitor is great. It feels very solid, not cheap like some other LCD monitors ive personally seen.
Check out Buy.com if youre looking for a good deal on a new monitor, they have quite a few to choose from.

I tried this new iPod DVD converter software the other day and it really seems to work great. I personally use a DVR similar to Tivo to record tv shows and such, then I burn them to dvd and watch them later so I can watch a few episodes at a time, one after another.
This software makes it handy to convert those shows that I record so that I can put them on my iPod and watch them on the go.
The software is called “PQ DVD to iPod Video Converter Suite” and it’s available on PQDVD.com. You can try the software for free or purchase the entire package which consists of two different programs for only $39.95.
Check it out if youre looking for an easy and affordable way to save your favorite videos, TV shows and DVD movies onto your iPod without paying monthly or individual fee’s to use services like iTunes.

Last night I setup a network between my 3 home computers with some leftover network cables from my office. They just redid our whole computer network and then let me take what was left over from the job. The cables came in very handy and saved me a few bucks at the same time! I believe they purchased the cables through CableMegaStore.com.
I still have plenty leftover, though. I bet I ended up with over 500 feet worth of cables. Not bad considering my computers are all within 10 feet of eachother. I guess I’ll keep the extra for a rainy day.
